How to Fix iCal's Issues in Lion

I have a couple of questions about iCal in Lion. First, when creating or adding a title to an appointment, I can insert returns (line breaks), but once I click the Done button, all of the information is jammed together without any returns. Also, what happened to the mini calendars in iCal? Lastly, whenever I add an event to the calendar, and go to the next month, for some reason, the calendar will jump back to the date that I was just on. I am constantly having to watch the date as iCal seems to jump around on its own.
When adding titles to appointments, you can make the title spread out across multiple lines by pressing Option-Return to create a new line; however, this change won’t show up in the calendar itself—you’ll only see it by double-clicking the calendar appointment.
While the mini calendars in iCal for Lion are now gone, you can get a similar look and feel by using the Yearly view (View > By Year, or Command-4). You can also get a smaller calendar in the Day view (View > By Day, or Command-1).

Forcing line returns in event titles won’t break them on the calendar, just on the larger event window.
iCal can easily be triggered to load the current date, or skip ahead or back to other calendar dates. Some things to watch out for: Command-T will take you back to the current date; Command–Left Arrow will take you back a time unit; and Command–Right Arrow will take you ahead by one time unit. You can also trigger iCal to load another date by sliding two fingers forward or back on a Multi-Touch trackpad.
