No time to read? A hectic schedule doesn’t mean your brain has to go hungry -- just let your ears do the reading during your next commute. Audible (audible.com) offers downloadable audiobooks, comedy, and news programs, periodicals, and more for sale individually or in subscriptions starting at $14.95 a month. If you’re on a tight budget, check your local public library’s website. Many libraries now loan downloadable audiobooks playable on your Mac or iOS device.

Audible’s free app puts the world of audiobooks in your hand.
For more free food for thought, check out iTunes U (goo.gl/Js6rV) and TED (ted.com), two digital warehouses overflowing with smart people discussing big ideas. The video lectures in TED’s website and free iPad app make for great listening, and you can even sort TED’s catalog of mind-expanding presentations by topic and length -- perfect for a quick knowledge fix on the go.
