How to Load Memory Stick Duo Photos to iPad
I have a Sony Cyber-shot camera, an iPad, and the iPad Camera Connection Kit. But when I plug my memory card into the Camera Connection Kit, nothing happens. I don’t understand -- the memory card is smaller than the space provided on the Camera Connection Kit. Help!
Sony cameras use Memory Stick Duo cards, and the card slot you’re trying to use is only for SD cards. So even though it looks like it should fit, it…doesn’t really fit.

Your Cyber-shot’s card probably looks something like this. The iPad Camera Connection Kit can’t read it.
But you can still do what you’re trying to do without spending any more money. Your camera also has a USB port, so bust out the USB cable it came with and connect that to the USB port in the iPad Camera Connection Kit’s other dongle. (It comes with two: one with an SD slot, and one with a USB port.) That will work.
Alternatively, you can connect a USB card reader that reads Memory Stick Duo cards to the Kit’s USB port, then put the memory card into the card reader. But it’s probably easier to just connect the camera itself.

Im still working on iPad 1 but since the upgrade of the ios I have not been able to connect a USB card reader successfully. The OS "Upgrade" reduced the power to the port. Before the upgrade I used a USB card reader without problems, after it has not worked since.
Now Im not sure but I dont think it will work on iPad 2 unless they have change the power to the port again.
I would think that someone out there has a POWERED or even better Battery operated card reader. If someone invented one they would make a fortune!
