How to Make Your iPhone Battery Last Longer on the iPhone 4/3GS

My iPhone battery dies so quickly!

One way to save your iPhone’s battery is to turn off Location Services for most, if not all, of your apps.
“Clear!” Zap. No, just kidding, you can’t defibrillate your iPhone. You can do a hard restart by holding down Home and Sleep until you see the Apple logo. If that doesn’t help too much, try turning off Location Services, but not globally, since that would prevent you from using Find My iPhone if you need to. Instead, turn it off app by app, and then turn it back on for apps you really use as the need arises. Turn the brightness down as low as you can handle. Pick up a battery-packing case like the ones we’ve reviewed at maclife.com/tags/external_battery. Or go all out and replace the battery—iFixit.com can sell you the battery, the tools, and provide free, easy-to-follow instructions. An iPhone 3GS replacement battery is just $19.95.

But if you kill Location Services entirely, Find My iPhone can’t work. So think twice.
