How to Move Documents to an iOS Device

I can’t move documents to my iDevice to edit them. What gives?
Apple could make iTunes File Sharing clearer, that’s what. To use it, connect your device to your Mac via USB, then select it in iTunes and click Apps at the top of the window. Installed apps that support iTunes File Sharing appear at the bottom of the screen (Pages, Numbers, Keynote, and iMovie are just a few). To share files from your Mac, select an app in that list and then drag and drop files onto the document list in iTunes. To copy files back to your Mac, just drag them from the list to a folder on your Mac.

Odds are you already have apps that support iTunes File Sharing on your device.
Many apps support other file sharing methods instead of, or in addition to, iTunes File Sharing. These may include email transfers, transfers over local Wi-Fi through an OS X helper app, or syncs to Dropbox and WebDAV servers, just to name a few (Dropbox also offers a dedicated iOS app). Check your app’s documentation for details about what’s supported and how to set up file sharing.
