How to Stop Annoying Auto Corrections on the iPhone
We all have a few words we'd rather our iPhones forgot. Remember that one time you typed "teh" instead of "the" and now your phone refuses to type "the" right? Or what about that one time you went to "the Oakland A's game" and now your phone types "as" as "A's?"

Insults like these tend to lose their sting with all the auto correct fails.
Fear not, because there's more than one way to fix your auto-correct blues.
1. Reset Your Dictionary
If your iPhone dictionary is a mess of incorrectly spelled words and mistakes, you might just want to reset the whole thing. You can do so by navigating to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Keyboard Dictionary. This will refresh your phone dictionary and all those weird misspellings will be forgotten.

There are plenty of options hidden in the Reset pane, but Reset Dictionary has to be the most useful.
While in there, you can reset your home screen layout as well. Doing so will arrange all of your first-party apps to the factory default and put the rest in alphabetical order.
2. Tap out
While the misspellings can be seriously annoying, if you don't want to reset your dictionary, (and lose all the swear words you spent months teaching your phone) there is another way.
Type the misspelled word and when the auto-corrector appears above the word, tap the "x." Do this slowly five times. On the fifth tap of the "x", the word will be forgotten!

It's like an awesome game. Type the word slowly and tap the X carefully. If you miss one, you'll have to start over. Neat!

I tried and typed super slow and tapped the x and did it 5 times and then tried it 15 times and it still showed the incorrect version. when I enter the text, it is xxxx1, and it gives me, xxxxa. since this is my email it really is annoying. I am using an iPhone4. I also reset my dictionary. Why won't it work?

Ok, whats the deal? I am trying to get rid of the A's for as. How annoying that is to me. Every time I try to hit the "X" slowly on the first time it goes away. So how can I keep hitting a "X" that is not there? Is there some trick?
I gave up and reset the whole dictionary. That works for me. Finally it is taken care of.

Took me *8* times in-a-row to make the dictionary updates with the "Tap Out" method...

This is good to know, great little tidbit... but...
I just thought this might be a way to get rid of the hell/he'll autocorrection. I want the iPhone to forget some built in corrections :(
