How can I sync my Gmail contacts to my iOS devices and MacBook Pro if they’re all using iCloud?
Fortunately, Apple doesn’t just limit you to using iCloud.
If you’d rather not switch your entire online life over to iCloud, you can sync up your Gmail contacts instead. On your Mac, go to Address Book > Preferences > Accounts and then select the “On My Mac (Local)” account. Check the box labeled “Synchronize with Google” and then enter in your credentials to get started. Voilà! Now Address Book will automatically push contacts changes to Gmail.

I did as you instructed and the graphic came up but all that shows is iCloud, Gmail & Yahoo. No other accounts. Help?

I think the reader's question was how do you do both. I use Gmail and often use the web version but I would love to have my contacts be updated on Gmail as well as through iCloud.
