My iPhone photos always come out blurry or dark. What am I doing wrong?
The good news is you probably don’t need glasses. The iPhone’s camera has improved dramatically over the years, but its pictures can still turn out blurry if your hands are moving too much while you shoot. One common cause of Jiggling Camera Syndrome is tapping the Camera app’s button to snap a picture. Since the picture is taken the moment the button is released, touch and hold the button until you line up your shot, then gently lift your finger, or slide it off the button, to take the photo.

Tapping your subject can get better results than the iPhone’s autofocus feature.
When shooting dark or high-contrast scenes, your iPhone doesn’t always know best. Instead of trusting its autofocus feature, try tapping on or around your subject before taking a picture. The camera will adjust both its focus and lighting settings, and this can bring out shadowy details you might have missed. If that doesn’t remedy the symptoms, tap the button in the upper-left corner of the Camera app’s screen to set its flash to Auto or On. Above all, experiment with your settings and take several shots to ensure a winner.
