The Reading List feature in both the Mountain Lion and iOS versions of Safari is a great way to save articles (without bookmarking) to read later. Here’s how to make full use of it.
Enable Reading Lists

Enabling Safari syncing in iCloud will also enable Reading List synching between your iOS and OS X devices.
The first step to using the Reading List feature is to enable iCloud syncing for Reading Lists. In OS X, navigate to System Preferences > iCloud, and turn on the option for Safari. You also need to do this on your iOS devices. Go to Settings > iCloud, and turn on the setting for Safari syncing.
Add Items To Your Reading List

Saving an article for later is only a tap away.
To add an item to your Reading List on the Mac, press Shift- Command-D (or choose Bookmarks > Add to Reading List). In iOS, tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen and choose “Add to Reading List.” When you add the page to the Reading List on your Mac, it will be stored for offline viewing; when adding the page in iOS 5, the content will not be available for offline viewing, but the page will sync to your other devices.
View Your Reading List

View all list items or only those that are unread by using the filter buttons at the top of the Reading List.
To view the content stored in the Reading List in Safari on OS X, press Shift-Command-L on the keyboard (or choose View > Show Reading List). Click any of the items in your list to have Safari load the webpage in the currently opened tab. Use the filter at the top of the Reading List to select between viewing all items or only unread items. Use the Clear All button to get rid of the current items in the Reading List. To delete a single item, right-click and choose Remove Item from the shortcut menu, or click the small “x” that appears when mousing over an item.
To view the Reading List in iOS 5, open Safari and navigate to Bookmarks > Reading List. Once there, you have the same filter for viewing All or Unread items. Delete a single item by swiping from left to right and then tapping the Delete button that appears, just as you would delete messages in Mail.
