Access your Music and Podcasts

Didn't feel like going the way of the iPod? Surely by now you've been syncing your Android phone via DoubleTwist. This versatile application is cheap, easy to use and it utilizes the media data you've already put into iTunes (like your playlists and music library). For over the air syncing, download the doubleTwist AirSync application ($4.99 in the Android market). This buys you the license so that you can use it in conjunction with the doubleTwist app, which is free.

After installing the doubleTwist AirSync app, launch it from your apps menu and then hit the AirSync button.

A prompt screen will show up asking you if you're really certain about setting up AirSync. Of course you are! Hit Yes.

This will take you to the Setting screen. Hit AirSync at the top.

In the AirSync menu, hit Set Up AirSync, and then launch doubleTwist on your Mac.

Make sure both your Mac and your Android phone are on the same Wi-Fi network. Then type in the verification code into doubleTwist on your Mac.

After you've entered in the code, your Mac will start searching for the phone on the network.

Then you can start syncing your music!

Need to access your SD card on the go, but don't have an adapter? WiFi Explorer Pro lets you easily do so as long as both your Mac and your Android phone are on the same Wi-Fi network.

All you have to do is install the app on your phone from the Android Market and fire it up. Make sure that both your Mac and your Android phone are on the same Wi-Fi network, and then WiFi Explorer will assign you an IP address.

Type it into your browser window and it'll give you the full file hierarchy of your SD card. You can then download and upload files between your Mac and Android phone as you please.
