I want to be able to upload pix into a video iPod for storage. Do I need to upgrade to Tiger and iTunes 7?

No, you don't need Tiger; yes, you need iTunes 7.x, which runs on Mac OS 10.3.9 and later. For direct camera-to-iPod image transfer, try Apple's $29 iPod Camera Connector. Just remember that you won't be able to view images shot in RAW mode on your 'Pod. The workaround is to shoot in RAW+JPEG mode, if your camera can swing it. That way your iPod can display the JPEGs, and it'll also hold the RAW files for processing on your Mac later. If you get tempted to try one of Belkin's camera or media-card adapters, keep in mind that they don't work with the video-enabled iPod, just the iPod photo.
