It was only a matter of time, but it's now official. FarmVille has been launched for the iPad, so now users can have a cross platform experience by being able to keep an eye on their farms on the web, iPhone and iPad at the same time.
"We want to reach people wherever they want to play the games they love, and deliver the most fun and social experience on every platform," noted Steven Chiang, Zynga president of studios. "The iPad is a spectacular gaming device, and the new FarmVille app leverages its larger touch screen interface and enhanced graphics. FarmVille on the iPhone was an instant hit and now we are giving people another Apple device to play on."
Originally, the FarmVille app for the iPhone took off in the App Store on June 24, and has now appeared in the Top 25 games on iTunes for more than 50 days. As of right now, players from 85 different countries take part in FarmVille on the iPhone and send more than 100,000 gifts each day. An even more interesting figure is that over 60 million people around the world play FarmVille, making up about one percent of the whole global population!
FarmVille for the iPad contains custom graphics that were built in particular for the iPad. Like its counterpart on the iPhone, the new iPad app makes use of the touch screen interface, allowing users to swipe a finger or double-tap to zoom in and out, view farms, harvest crops and drive tractors. iPad players can be alerted to their crop status and farm thanks to push notifications.
It's free and in the iTunes App Store now!
