One of the many things we were able to take away from Apple's unveiling of the new iPad this morning in San Francisco, is that when it comes to messing around the latest iteration of Apple's tablet means business.
Boasting more RAM than the PS Vita, Playstation 3 or Xbox 360, the new iPad's A5X processor has enough horses under the hood to rock games built with the Unreal Engine--a development environment designed for creating desktop and home console games. With those kind of specs available to developers to tinker with, games like Shadowgun and Infinity Blade 2, which looked impressive to us this past year will seem quaint when stacked up against titles optimised to run on Apple's new iPad hardware.
Did we mention that gamers will be able to get their multiplayer pew-pew on over LTE or Wi-Fi? No? Well they totally can. Of course all of this will be dished up on a face melting 2048 x 1536 pixel display.
With Apple offering consumers the largest game library anywhere in the universe, amazingly powerful hardware specs and portability to boot, there's never been a better time to be an iOS gamer.
