Normally we would expect any analysis out of the king of all things TV rating to be crisp and concise, right? Not so when it came to their recent comments about iPad app downloading. They had originally claimed that about one-third of all iPad users had never downloaded an app. Looks like the yolk's on them!
Now the company is saying that those who have never downloaded an app is fewer than one in ten.
"This article and the related download have been amended to reflect updates to the percentage of iPad users in the survey downloading app," says a post on the company's blog which describes the study for which the download stats appear.
That "related download" that Nielsen speaks of, is a study that was released by the firm last week, which was entitled "Connected Devices: Does the iPad Change Everything?" Their original chart looked a little something like this:

And better yet, the new chart looks a little something like this:

But now, the question becomes what led to the sudden turnaround in Nielsen's numbers?
The Register tried to get an answer from the company but said they didn't get anything more satisfying than "we'll get back to you." Hmmm…what do you think readers? Why the sudden change in heart on their numbers? Feel free to leave your predictions below!
