Accel Break
Accel Break would be a fine Breakout clone, except the ball doesn’t actually accelerate in play and moves at the same speed throughout the game. This is doubly odd since you can move your paddle vertically as well as horizontally, yet there’s no extra oomph in bumping the ball up the screen. The poky, predictable physics and too-large paddle make for games that boil down to knocking out a majority of bricks early and then waiting forever to nail the last few.
