With the the continuous popularity of the iPad and iPod touch, the iPhone's upcoming availability on two American networks and the Mac's growing market share, Analysts are predicting that by 2012 there will be 200 million FaceTime capable devices in the hands of consumers. Consequentially, we predict that by 2012, approximately 200 million people will be fixing their checking for goop between their teeth every time they think about answering the phone.
According to Barclays' analyst Ben Reitzes, Apple will have shipped somewhere in the neighborhood of 85 million Facetime-capable devices to consumers by the end of the 2011 fiscal year, leading to a 200 million Facetime rocking device crescendo by the the end of Fiscal year 2012. As he was throwing about a wide variety of speculative declarations anyway, Reitzes added that iPad 2, which he says will be announced within the next month, will be a key factor in helping Apple achieve his projected sales numbers.
