I'll stick that Ace in the top row for an even 21, of course.
This timed game has you deal cards into five hands, trying to get each hand as close as possible to 21 without busting. The free Lite version gives you a taste of the gameplay, but the $4.99 version lets you tweak the settings for a total of 15 game types. It lets you start with zero, one, or two cards in each hand, choose 20 or 30 seconds on the clock, the number of rounds per game, and whether the game keeps track of your hands' totals for you or not.
The result is fast-paced and addictive, especially when you're racking your brain to total the card values quickly. (Teaches youngsters both addition AND gambling skills!)
BlackJack Run has a clean landscape-view interface, no music (although that's preferable since you can listen to your iPod tunes instead), and it keeps track of your best scores. We appreciate the try-it-before-you-buy it model of offering the Lite version, but the paid version's extra game types kept us happily dealing cards for hours.
Fast-paced, addictive fun. You can whiz through each game in as little as one minute, but beware of "just one more round" syndrome.
