With all the different peripherals for the iPhone, one would expect a
keyboard to hit the market. Apple has yet to release anything to soothe
the hungry iPhone folks, but one individual did manage to beat third
party hardware vendors to the punch.
Using a jailbroken iPhone, the handy hacker hooked a small keyboard from a Palm device to the 30 pin dock connector. Using some code, and a decent brain, it worked out pretty well. This might be the baby steps needed for a future keypad for the iPhone or lead to some device to benefit people with disabilities. Whatever the case may be, this will inspire hardware companies to work on their own iPhone keyboard.
