Knot Time makes it easy to get tied up in knots
Unless you grew up on a sailboat or in the Boy Scouts, you probably have no idea what someone wants when they ask you for a Monkey's Fist. It might sound like an exotic drink, but it's actually a complicated knot that you can learn to tie with Knot Time.
Knot Time features simple video tutorials on how to tie 22 different knots, which are broken up into General, Boating, and Mountaineering categories. Choose a category by spinning the selector wheel, pick your knot, and the video (in landscape mode only) will start showing you how to tie that knot. You can pause, fast forward, and rewind the videos when you find yourself tied up, and the audio narration is actually very helpful. Sure beats trying to tie one of these by reading instructions.
The only real problem with this app is the interface. It's extremely simple, and the selector wheel will dump you back to the previous screen if you accidentally scroll to the top or bottom of the wheel. It also would have been nice to see graphic representations of these knots in the menus, because sometimes you know what a knot looks like but have no idea what it's called.
Knot Time gives video tutorials on how to tie 22 different knots, right in your pocket.
