There's been a lot of smack talk over the past year from Sony surrounding the iPhone as a gaming device in comparison to the PSP. While most consumers can see that the comparison of a device that does pretty much everything to one that focuses on doing one task very well is an apples and oranges sort of affair. However, all that could change this Thursday as Sony will could be officially announcing the details of their much rumored and often prayed for PSP phone.
This Thursday's PSP Conference will also mark the debut of Sony's next generation mobile gaming device, the PSP2, which has been alternately rumored to be as powerful as their PS3 console and will certainly be able to go blow for blow with the next generation iPhone and iPad. Whether or not either the PSP Phone or the PSP2 live up to the hype remains to be seen. In the meantime, we'll be sticking to our tried, tested and true iOS devices to get our pew-pew on while on the go.
