As further proof of the power of the shroud of secrecy that covers everything Apple, even Apple employees aren’t sure what’s going on. I recently spoke to an Apple employee who reports that the rumor flying around the Apple campus is that we’ll have to wait until September for new iPhone hardware. No word on what the hold up is.
Of course, I have my own theories about a July release--July has traditionally been iPhone season, and all the first-gen iPhone users’ AT&T contracts are about to expire, after all--but according to an Apple employee I spoke with, apparently the smart money is on a September release. If you’re the type to heed water-cooler chatter, that is.
Is it true? I hope not. And unfortunately, the source I spoke to doesn’t work on the iPhone. But it is nice to know that we’re not the only ones subject to the Apple rumor mill. Even at One Infinite Loop, iPhone gossip is alive and well.

i hope it isnt true but in the mean time i came across this new offer of a two line iPhone...was wondering how it works? apparently now iPhones allows two phone lines on phone...if this is true then it will be so cool...i always forget to carry my either work phone or my personal phone with me...its just too much of a hassle..if anyone knows about how to get this two line iphone...plz help!

I am waiting for the new iPhone. I have the patience, but September is going to push it. Really pushing it. I have a Treo, it is a decent phone, but weight too much, and it's too big. Finding a cool app for it, forget it... And no offense, the new Palm Pre, looks a little bulky, and will there be cool apps for it? very doubtful. I have a blackberry also, and can not stand the UI, and the e-mail is like baby app. Syncing it to the address book and calendar is also a big nightmare. I am all about good tools, does not matter what brand it is and who makes it, and hats off to the Apple iPhone folks, it is one good tool! (actually three good tools in one...)Please don't make me wait till September.

I agree with Christine, new iphones are selling great. Not sure why Apple put only iphones with ATT. People want get cell phones for sale not only with ATT.
