Sonos Controller for iPhone

Sonos returns with a modern music remote. It's called "iPhone."
The Sonos multi-room audio system had us grooving with its simple setup and intuitive interface. The few sour notes we found were the lack of a touch interface and expensive hardware. Now that Sonos has introduced the free Sonos Controller for iPhone and iPod touch, both of these problems have been rectified.
Like the desktop version of the Sonos Controller software, the iPhone version is designed smartly and simply. Setup is just as easy on the iPhone. Simply connect to your Wi-Fi network, and push a button on one of your ZonePlayers. From there you can access any ZonePlayer in the house, simultaneously linking and dropping zones without skipping a beat; search through content on other PCs, Macs, or NAS; and browse internet services like Pandora, Rhapsody, and Napster. And just like any other Sonos client, the iPhone app instantaneously updates with any changes you make anywhere else. The headliner though is that searching is no longer clunky with the iPod-style scroll wheel on the hardware Controller. With the touchpad you can quickly type in all your trippy favorites like Parliament Funkadelic and The Alan Parsons Project.
Existing Sonos owners and potential buyers alike will dig this app, since it gives customers with an iPhone or iPod Touch free roaming control with touch interface, but it also takes the $399 Sonos Controller out of the equation and supplants it with with a $199 iPod touch. It's great value any way you play it.
This software remote is even better than the stand-alone Sonos Controller. It's a must for old and new Sonos buyers.
