This isn't the app you're looking for.

As near-obsessive aficionados of Star Wars, we wanted to love the new Star Wars Sound Board app, which gives us Darth Vader’s wheeze and other friendly, familiar sounds at the touch of a virtual button. But the Force is not with this app. Even though it delivers other audio clips, such as Leia's plea, "Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope," you get little payoff.

With only 16 sounds, we debated the selection. Why choose these particular sound nuggets yet eschew the popular Cantina Theme? Why limit the soundbites to a maximum of six seconds? And why, oh why, is there no ringtone option?

The famous Lightsaber app follows the accelerometer to create the electric sound of a lightsaber scoring a hit. This app ignores the accelerometer completely. What a wasted opportunity.

Star Wars Sound Board is cute but limited in its appeal. It feels like something a Jawa cobbled together in ten minutes
