Apple giveth and Apple taketh away. As quickly as Apple's legendary, white iPhone 4 appeared on Verizon's iPhone launch page it has vanished. If you listen closely, you can hear your local tech-minded fashionista gentle weeping into their morning cereal.
The white iteration of the iPhone 4 has been extensively delayed due to issues surrounding the manufacturing of the handset's white glass back plate, and the fact that the device's Home button wasn't being produced in the same tone of white as the rest of the iPhone.
While Apple has assured us that the white iPhone will be available in the spring of this year, as anyone looking outside will tell you, it ain't spring yet. We speculate that the white handset may have appeared on the site as the result of a over zealous web designer's need to match the phone color up with the rest of the site. When the media latched on to the fact that the white iPhone had resurfaced, Verizon quickly took note of the marketing flub and immediately pulled it from their site.
Whether or not the phone will still be available this spring is anyone's guess. However, once the handset is up for grabs, you can rest assured that we'll let you know.
