iPhone Hack-a-Thon: Next week over 3000 hackers, security pros and guys good at stuff largely occult to the rest of us descend on Las Vegas for the Black Hat 2007 conference where the top order of the day seems to be an iPhone hack to end all hacks. Is Apple rushing to patch the hole in the dyke? We’ll know in about a week.
Speaking of Felony…: While iPod popularity’s been closely followed by iPod thievery, we were only a tad amused to see cops in Rio robbing U.S. cops for their iPods. We guess you know you’ve arrived when even the good guys start stealing you. Which is perhaps what’s keeping up IT pros who are getting a touch antsy about iPod related data theft. In a Credant study a majority of IT folks feared the iPod as a possible data security risk. And with a new iPod on the near horizon as well.
iTunes Anxiety: When your entire collection of visual/audio art, music, TV has gone digital you’re probably only as good as your medium is solid. Which means good back up. Which means something none of us ever do. Thank God someone’s come along to help us with our huge libraries of music and video. Bandwagon’s $2 a month back up is cooool…. And did you know you can now make iPhone ringtones from iTune’s previews? Craaaazzzyyy…
And did we mention…: ...how cool it is that sales of Macs are, despite all of the iPhone hoo-hah, up 33 percent from last year too? Who’d a’thunk it?
