With the iPhone expected to be announced in a week, it can be difficult to keep all the rumors straight.
Will the iPhone have GPS?
Will it have 3G?
Will it come with a squeegee for those of us with oily skin?
We've used the power of the internet to see what rumor mongers are expecting from the next iPhone. This is what we found.
Rumors that may be true.
Announced during WWDC. Kind of a no brainer. Can you imagine Steve making it out of Moscone without announcing the new iPhone?
Launched during WWDC. Less likely to happen, but a good way to get all those developers on the next version of the device. Some have speculated it will launch on Friday, June 27, two days before the iPhone launch anniversary. Regardless of which day, we think it'll launch in June.
Faster mobile internet access with 3G. With 3G references found within the SDK, there is 99.999999 percent chance this will happen.
The iPhone will be slimmer, 22 percent slimmer.
The back will be black with rounded curves similar to this "leaked" image found on Hackintosh. A recent Griffin case molding, also substantiates the rounded back rumor.
The headphone jack will no longer be recessed. If this happens, third-party iPhone cable makers will have lose their lucrative, 2-inch adapter cable market.
Never get lost with GPS. The iFaux location locator is nice, but it doesn't replace the satellite power of GPS. A supplier is allegedly tapped to deliver the chips.
It will be subsidized. Reports are trickling in that the iPhone will be subsidized in the United States and other countries. This will smash the biggest iPhone ownership roadblock, the price.Who can resist a $200 iPhone?
.Mac rebranded as Mobile Me. Mobile Me will bring Outlook-type sync services to .Mac and the iPhone. For some, this will finally make the annual $99 .Mac fee worth it.
Rumors we doubt will materialize.
iPhone nano brings teeny tiny iPhones to the small handed.
Double-sided camera. The iPhone's camera can take pictures from the front and back of the iPhone.
The iPhone will be thicker. We're pretty sure thinner is better than thicker.
Smaller screen. This rumor faded pretty quickly when people realized how insane it was.
