iPod Exploded in Resin
Artist Billy Chasen has encased a 4th generation iPod in resin. Don't worry, the iPod still works, the artist can control and charge the trapped iPod via the dock connection which is accessible from the bottom of the resin block.
Actually, it's a fitting tribute to an old iPod. Tell us in the comment how you plan on retiring your old iPods.

Keep the back (it was engraved to me on my college graduation) and chuck the rest. It's a 3rd G, and I've already repaired it, but it's "beamed up" for the last time.

Problably make a mould of it, remove the case, and make a new one out of a transparent plastic or something.

New battery and repair as it goes.
Until they get the new iPods right, I'm sticking with my trusty ol' Photo.
