Leopard Dock Changes…
Posted 02/29/2008 at 5:10:44pm | by Scott Rose

This is CandyBar’s Float theme, which changes the Dock indicator to a blue triangle.

In Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, the little black triangle in the Dock that indicated an open program has changed to a pale blue dot. My mother is 86 years old and complains that it’s difficult to see this dot. Is there a way to change it to a solid black dot or triangle?

It’s not just your mom who is having problems working with the new Dock in Leopard. Until Apple gives us the ability to easily change the dot back to the black triangle seen in Tiger, you can always turn to CandyBar 3 ($29, www.panic.com), which lets you customize the style of your Dock as well as your system icons. Simply choose a new theme for your Dock in CandyBar, and your Dock’s open-application indicator will automatically change to reflect that theme.

I have my dock at full size and the dots are pretty visable.
