Uh-oh. Some early MacBook Air adopters are starting to report problems of seeing video anomalies and kernel panics with the new 11-inch and 13-inch models of the MacBook Air, which could possibly have something to do with sleep/wake issues.
According to Cult of Mac, the reports of the symptoms coming in have varied. Some users on the Apple forums have started to report complaints of their MacBook Airs crashing.
One user reported that his 11-inch model would start to randomly display "weird colors in vertical lines" that would stretch across the whole screen and then the machine would lock up. He had to power cycle the computer just to recover.
Another reported that their 13-inch model crashed three times both with a blank screen and then once with the same screen distortion that had been reported by the above user.
Cult Of Mac also reported a video problem on their 13-inch MacBook Air, where horizontal sparkling bands ran up and down the screen, however this time the computer didn't freeze. Once rebooted, the problem failed to occur again.

To Apple's defense, they did release a technical bulletin titled: About MacBook Air (Late 2010) Software Update 1.0, according to Apple provided the below fixes:
MacBook Air (Late 2010) Software Update 1.0 resolves an issue where a MacBook Air (Late 2010) computer may become unresponsive while playing back movie trailers in iMovie. The update also addresses an issue where the computer may become unresponsive after waking from sleep when an external display is connected and also contains general graphics performance updates.
The update should be available in Software Update automatically.
Also mentioned by Cult of Mac was a kernel panic issue that they experienced. Macs don't usually kernel panic and COM reported that they have seen three within four days, all of which occurred from wake-from-sleep.
