As the Apple faithful descend upon Moscone every year for the annual Mac Expo, a special group of booth employee emerges.
They stand all day looking pretty while handing out fliers and swag. It's a tough job done with style and grace.
To shine a spotlight on these unsung heroes, we present, the Mac|Life Booth Babe of the Year.

MacBook Air Lament
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Fri, 2008-01-18 22:08
I'll just pick the thread with the most viewers:
Ok, is it just me, or does the MacBook Air stink? I was saving up my hard earned dollars, waiting for the announcement to be blown away. I was hoping for something that would jump ahead of the competition like the iPhone did. Maybe a 12" screen on a very thin body, some touch capabilities, a standard flash drive, and a weight under 3 pounds. What I saw was a lame, last year's technology, overpriced botch job.
You shrink the hard drive, drop stereo speakers, drop the optical drive, and all you can get us down to is 3 pounds? One USB port? No one's built something with one USB port since about 1998, right?
I was all geared up to drink the Kool Aid on this one, but I just can't stomach it. Back to the drawing board, guys- maybe you should get some Apple designers in there instead of using the interns this time.
MBA

Only Steve Snobs has the audacity to sell an overpriced and underpowered notebook with limited usefulness and 80GB hard drive. The multi-touch trackpad is nice, but soon all MacBooks will have this feature. That's one less feature for the MBA, but you can still use the MBA to keep the kitchen table from wobbling.

I think you're quite ignorant to the market this little machine is aimed at. The MBA isn't designed as a primary machine, it is meant to supplement a user with a small, lightweight, power efficient ultraportable, and it succeeds at that, if you want a primary machine as a laptop, quit your bitchin and get a MacBook Pro, you know, the one DESIGNED as a primary machine.

From now on, could Mac|Life please include QuickTime files so that we iPod touch and iPhone users can view them on our device of choice? Thanks Mac|Life staff.

I'm just wondering....what made this year's MacLife Booth Babe of the Year stand above the competition? Was it the tasteful-yet-feral animal print frock? The sexy open-toed sandals (yes, I noticed the camera trained down to check out the Babe's toes)? Or was there some kind of talent competition (that had to be excised from this video, probably due to storage limitations)?
Please, Mr. Baldwin, let us know, so that we may be better prepared to compete next January!

Hell, at least I can fast-forward through those damnably annoying Sony commercials at the beginning of the videos.
(And if THAT was the booth babe of the year, I'd hate to see what the other babes looked like)

Nice burn! Here I am at 6 am thinking I am going to see a little cleavage or maybe some side boob and all I get is a boob wearing leopard skin! It's pathetic but it's something to do this early in the morning. Can we also get rid of the Sony commercials that are in the videos? At least videos from Adobe or another Mac developer but not one for Vista. Am I not suppose to hate them?
Bwahahaha
