This free app helps you streamline OS X’s language support, eliminating language files you don’t need (to free up precious hard drive space) and helping you make sure you don’t axe files that are required, even if they don’t seem necessary.

 

REQUIREMENTS: Mac OS 10.3.9

I suspect it hung my Text Edit, - or was it FontNuke that nuked it?
