Playlists facilitate the process of arranging and moving music to a different library. One method is to sort your tunes to taste in the iTunes browser. Within iTunes, Shift-click to select an album's worth of songs, then select File > New Playlist From Selection. This works for any selected songs, but if you do it per album, the playlist takes on the album's name, which is handy. To add another layer of order, select File > New Folder to create folders for each additional library that you created and sort your playlists accordingly. This is just one of many techniques - you could also select File > New Smart Playlist and list everything by genre.

You can micromanage folders of playlists, or one big playlist.
