osx If you've been champing at the bit for the magic of 10.5.7, according to a super-secret Apple source, your champing can cease on Friday. The newest version of Leopard is slated to fix a slew of networking, syncing and bluetooth issues.

Developers were seeded build 9J58 on Wednesday, April 29. This, possibly, final build corrected issues with iChat and Safari.

There is speculation that this will be the final update to Leopard before Snow Leopard's release. Apple is expected to release, or announce a release date, of Snow Leopard at WWDC at the beginning of June.

Until then, we'll just have to bask in the glory of a 10.5.7 lunatic weekend.

Does anyone know if 10.5.7 supposed to fix the issues with 3rd party RAM in unibody MacBooks? I heard 10.5.6 never addressed this officially.

In any case, this means we're one step closer to Snow Leopard, which I'm definitely looking forward to.

There is a great app in OS X called Dictionary. So, looks like "champing" is just fine, if one prefers it.

"chomp" is a dialect

"chomp" is a dialect variation of "champ", which means to chew vigorously or nervously, to grind the teeth, "champing at the bit" describes the behavior of a horse, anxious to get going.

Both uses are correct.

for those that don't know the meaning of chomping on the bit it is a metaphor. When a horse has anxiety or frustrated thats when they chomp on the bit and therefore thats where the saying came from
