If you do freelance work or own a small company, it’s important to have a good piece of software to take care of business. AccountEdge has been a Mac favorite for years, and with their just-released 2011 version, they’re also making the leap to iOS as well.
Acclivity LLC has announced the immediate availability of AccountEdge 2011 for Mac and Windows, which comes packed with the most user-requested updates and features. In addition to new options such as retainer and progress billing, the company is adding a universal iOS app, AccountEdge Mobile, into the mix.
AccountEdge Mobile will let you manage your business everywhere -- tap to record sales and activity slips, enter expenses and contacts and sync it all with your desktop version of AccountEdge through a free Dropbox account. The free mobile app is currently in review with Apple, but is expected to be released any day.
Meanwhile, AccountEdge 2011 for Mac and Windows is available now and brings a plethora of features for all types of business. Progress billing allows contractors or anyone who bills by project or job to now bill clients as work is completed. Lawyers, graphic artists and others who need to create and manage retainers will also find something to love with this version.
Acclivity is also offering Time Tracker for AccountEdge, a seamless way for employees and subcontractors to submit activity slips and timesheets from anywhere using an Internet connection. The service is being offered free during a beta period.
There are plenty of little niceties in the 2011 version as well, including the ability to create an invoice from a purchase, increased description field sizes, updated search, interface updates, web store integration updates, new PDF engine and an improved print dialog to preview your invoice or other form before printing.
AccountEdge 2011 is $299 for new users or $159 for upgrades; a small business Network Edition is also available for $299 new or $249 upgrade. Downloadable versions are available immediately after purchase or you can choose to have a boxed copy delivered to your door.
