Word comes today of a departure at one leading tech company, with the executive apparently landing at Cupertino. Kevin Lynch, the now former head of engineering at Adobe Systems, is leaving the company to "pursue other opportunities." But according to one source, the other opportunity is with Apple.
As reported by CNBC, Lynch left Adobe this week. The software giant filed with the Security and Exchange Commission today, noting Lynch's departure.
"On March 18, 2013, Kevin Lynch resigned from his position as Executive Vice President, Chief Technology Officer, of Adobe Systems Incorporated, effective March 22, 2013, to pursue other opportunities," reads the Adobe SEC filing.
CNBC tech correspondent Jon Fortt -- speaking to unnamed sources -- claims Lynch is moving to Apple. As of now, neither Apple or Lynch have made any statements on the matter.
Lynch has been with Adobe for a number of years, going all the way back to the Macromedia days. He became chief technology officer in 2008. In his role, Lynch has led Adobe into the era of Creative Cloud, and one has to think the poaching from Apple could be related to iCloud.
No word as of yet as to Lynch's new title at Apple.
UPDATE: Speaking to AllThingsD, an Adobe spokesperson has confirmed Lynch's move to Apple, effective March 22.
