Adobe is adding even more value to its subscription-based Creative Cloud service today with the addition of Adobe Edge Reflow, a preview release of the company's forthcoming HTML5 design tool.
Adobe announced Thursday that Creative Cloud subscribers will be the first to enjoy a public preview of its latest HTML5 design application, Adobe Edge Reflow. The preview is also joined by feature updates to the existing Adobe Edge Animation, Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe Edge Code preview applications.
Billed as a "new responsive web design tool for creating layout and visual designs with CSS," Adobe Edge Reflow is available immediately to Creative Cloud members at no additional charge. The preview release features an intuitive, resizable design surface that shows how layouts and visuals will adapt to different screen sizes.
In addition to Edge Reflow, the current preview release of Adobe Edge Code has been updated with Live Development and Quick Edit features. The company is also rolling out an update for Adobe Dreamweaver that's exclusively for Creative Cloud members, improving interoperability with the Adobe Edge Tools and Services family as well as enhancements to the code authoring workflow.
Last but not least, Adobe Edge Animate also gets an important update today, serving up powerful new CSS-based features such as gradients, CSS filters and enhanced font support. The filter effects in particular enable web designers to implement tricks that until now could only be accomplished with the likes of Adobe Photoshop.
Adobe Creative Cloud is available for individuals for $49.99 per month with an annual membership. Existing customers with CS3 or later can upgrade to Creative Cloud for only $29.99 per month for the first year only, and packages are also available for students, teachers and teams.
