If Retina Display updates to Photoshop and Illustrator CS6 aren't enough for you today, Adobe has just announced a major update to its Creative Cloud product which will be detailed this afternoon at its Create Now Live online event.
Adobe Systems Incorporated has announced a big update to its Creative Cloud product on Tuesday, which will be followed by the online-only Create Now Live event kicking off at 10am PST (1pm EST) to celebrate the release. With approximately 326,000 paid individual members now using Creative Cloud as of November (and many more taking advantage of the free version), Adobe is clearly looking at the service as the future of its product lineup, offering all of its creative apps for one low monthly subscription price.
While a Photoshop CS6 update earlier this morning added Retina Display support for all users of the image editing software, that's just the tip of the iceberg -- Creative Cloud subscribers will be receiving some exclusive new features with an update coming later today.
The Creative Cloud-only features include Smart Object support for Blur Gallery and Liquify, as well as the ability to quickly export CSS code for text and objects and import color swatches to easily design incredible websites. Crop tool refinements have also been added to Photoshop CS6, along with 3D enhancements and Conditional Actions, which automatically select the appropriate Action based on user-defined rules.
But that's only the beginning: Creative Cloud has also added support for teams, offering the same great desktop tools, online services for publishing and sharing and upgrades users receive with the existing version, but with 100GB of cloud storage per user -- up from 20GB for the individual edition.
Adobe Muse has also been updated today, making it easier than ever to create unique layouts for desktop, iPhone, iPad and other mobile device versions of a website. Finally, the Creative Cloud Connection desktop sync app is now part of the Creative Cloud package, allowing users to automatically sync files to their account just by saving them to a folder on the desktop.
Adobe Creative Cloud starts at $49.99 per month for individual users, but for the foreseeable future, existing customers who own CS3 or later can get it for the discounted price of $29.99 per month for the first year. Creative Cloud for teams starts at $69.99 per month per seat and requires an annual contract, which is also discounted to $49.99 per month per seat for the first year for CS3 or later owners.
Adobe's Create Now Live event begins at 10am PST (1pm EST) on Tuesday, December 11 and will be streamed live from the company's Facebook page.
