Adobe is on a tear this week, adding Retina Display support to its Photoshop Touch app for the iPad and now the Creative Suite 6 version of Premiere Pro as well, which also adds support for the latest MacBook Pro GPU.
Adobe has announced a version 6.0.2 update to Premiere Pro CS6, available as a quick download from the Adobe Application Manager. A manual update will also be posted later today on Adobe's website.
The big news with Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 6.0.2 is support for HiDPI, which is better known as Retina Display on the new MacBook Pro. The update "improves appearance on computers that use Retina Display, such as MacBook Pro computers." (Hey, does Adobe know something about other Retina Macs that we don't?)
Premiere Pro 6.0.2 also adds GPU support for the GT 650M and GTX 680 -- the former is found in the latest MacBook Pro notebooks, which should be a nice performance boost for those users.
On the Windows side, Premiere Pro CS6 6.0.2 also adds Windows 8 certification, and both Mac and PC versions get a lengthy list of bug fixes ranging from keyboard shortcuts to auto-save and render issues. Be sure to hit the blog post and see if any of your least favorite bugs have been squashed in this update!
