Not all Mac users prefer to use Apple’s own software for their creative work, which is why Adobe has continued to offer consumer-centric versions of their photo and video tools. Today, Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements have received a substantial upgrade to make powerful features even more friendly to users.
Adobe has announced the immediate availability of Photoshop Elements 10 and Premiere Elements 10, the photo and video editing solutions for consumers which can be purchased together in a bundle for $149.99 or separately for $99.99 each. This year, the software packages also add an option for Elements Plus, a $49.99 per year bundle of integrated online services including 20GB of cloud storage for automatic online backup and sharing.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary with Tuesday’s release, Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 now features enhanced content-intelligent tools powered by the same engine that fuels the high-end Adobe Photoshop software, as well as new “guided edits” such as Depth of Field and Picture Stack which provide step-by-step guidance for creating amazing photos. Facebook users can now tag photos based on their Friends list, making it easier than ever to share your memories.
Likewise, Adobe Premiere Elements 10 arrives with amazing new tools to make short work of your video memories, including one-click tools to correct and enhance your image, InstantMovie themes for intelligently building movies in seconds, enhanced pan and zoom capability for photos and uploading finished movies directly to Facebook or YouTube, or burning high quality HD videos on regular DVD-R discs.
Both applications come with Elements Organizer, which goes beyond simple organization and file management by offering extensive search, editing and sharing options of its own. Each software package includes a free 30-day trial version of the companion software, so if you buy one you can test drive the other right away to take advantage of the deep integration.
“The Photoshop Elements 10 & Adobe Premiere Elements 10 bundle brings together all the functionality people need to easily create, perfect and share both photo and video memories,” said Winston Hendrickson, vice president of Digital Imaging Products, Adobe. “The new features expand the creative possibilities with photos and videos. And now, more than ever, people who capture photos are experimenting with video, so we’re offering new tools and technology that bring video editing to photographers in a way that is natural and easy for them.”
Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and Adobe Premiere Elements 10 are available now from Adobe’s website as well as a long list of retailers including Best Buy, Staples and online sellers including Amazon.com and New Egg. Upgrades from previous versions are also available. MacLife.com will have a first look at both applications later today and full reviews are coming soon!
