The tenth annual D: All Things Digital conference wraps up Thursday in California, but if Apple CEO Tim Cook’s opening night interview has you fondly reminiscing about Steve Jobs’ six appearances at the event, you can now downloaded them absolutely free from iTunes.
AllThingsD has collected six Steve Jobs appearances at the D: All Things Digital conference from 2003 to 2010 and is now offering them free of charge as downloadable video or audio podcasts direct from iTunes.
“In these onstage conversations, Jobs explained his -- and Apple’s -- evolving philosophy of where the digital world was heading, and of business itself,” writes AllThingsD co-founders Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher. “He discussed competitors, controversies and his own sense of what matters most. He stressed the importance of building products for their actual users, not ‘orifices’ like corporate IT departments or cellphone carriers. He explained why it was often more important to decide what products and features not to build than to pick the ones that were built. He even appeared jointly in a historic conversation with his lifelong rival, Bill Gates.
“So, as a memorial to a great man and in the spirit of sharing a priceless piece of history, we are making all six of these appearances available on iTunes for free, in high-quality video,” the pair conclude. “We thank Apple for its cooperation in making these videos available for all.”
A seventh audio-only podcast is also included entitled Steve Jobs’ Legacy: Reflections from AllThingsD, which features articles published on the website about the legendary Apple co-founder. Included is Mossberg’s article published when Jobs stepped down as CEO, and another after his death.
