Apple pre-orders are flying off the virtual stock shelves with more than 600,000 pre-order already, it's no wonder that Piper Jaffray's Gene Munster has increased the analysis of the iPhone sales for the June 2010 quarter. According to his newest prediction, Apple could sell upwards of 9.5 million devices come the end of this quarter. That's up 1 million from the analysts last prediction.
The analyst states that Apple has 6 days come June 24th to sell iPhones before the end of the month. Last year with the iPhone 3GS launch, Apple sold over 1 million in three days. Plus, the 6-month upgrade window that AT&T gave all iPhone owners could definitely help push sales even more.
Then there's a poll that was conducted by the Wall Street Journal that cited 62% of current iPhone owners were planning to upgrade to the new device.
"These numbers imply that 5.2 million AT&T (subscribers) could upgrade to iPhone 4," Munster said. "Assuming 25% upgrade at launch (June quarter) and the remaining 75% upgrade later, out analysis implies 1.3M iPhone 4 upgrades on AT&T in the June quarter."
Overall, the iPhone 4 seems to be turning the heads (and opening the wallets) of Apple fans everywhere. Munster believes this will directly affect the stock price for APPL, which is why he upped his target price expectation from $330 to $348.
