Analyst: iPhone To Rule The Roost Over BlackBerry In 2011
Many moons ago, one would have called you crazy if you would have said that Apple would take out RIM when it comes to the world mobile phone share of the market. But given Apple's surge in this area, it might not seem so crazy according to the Apple Blog, who says that a new financial analysis company, Trefis thinks this will occur at some point next year.
How could this happen you might ask, especially if the iPhone continues to be limited to one carrier here in the States? The iPhone can give the knock out punch to the BlackBerry by continuing growth in the markets in which it is currently available, and by also opting with multiple carriers in places where it only has a standing with one or two as of right now. The iPhone has also increased within corporate land, a spot where RIM's product has usually been the king.
But worries are that if Apple does indeed reach the top, that any future iPhone innovations could prove to grow stagnant, much similar to the minor updates to the iPhone 3GS. However, as Apple is known to "Think Different," only time will tell what tricks will be up Cupertino's sleeve to keep a good thing going.

An iPhone direct-connect type feature would be very appealing to businesses, although to make it in the shipping industry it would have to be a lot sturdier. How about a scratch/impact/dust/water/temperature proof iPhone with direct-connect and a walkie-talkie feature. The walkie-talkie bit would also work well for the iPod Touch.
