Analyst: A Recall of the iPhone 4 Would Cost a Hefty Sum

As if the idea weren't already absurd enough, analysts are saying that even if Apple did consider a recall of the iPhone 4, it would simply cost way too much money. According to estimates made by Bernstein Research analyst Toni Sacconaghi, a full product recall of the iPhone 4 would coast Apple $1.5 billion, or about 3.5 percent of its total earnings from the device.
Sacconagghi added that, "We believe that consumers are increasingly aware of the antenna issue, and remedying it rather than dismissing or ignoring it appears most appropriate."
Analysts are also speculating that Apple will go with giving away free bumpers to remedy the situation. As of right now, nothing has been recalled and no bumpers have been given away to faithful Apple patrons.

I love my Apple products, but I don't like the way Apple is now treating its customers. They need to make sure their product is ready to be released AND be sure they produce enough to meet demand from the get-go. It's absurd that so many customers have to sit and wait for Apple to get its head out of its a**. I really hope Apple doesn't go the way of Microsoft.

The greatest damage - and the most impossible to regain - is the newness rush of the early adoption of Apple products. And that, I'm afraid, may never again be possible. I think that buyers are going to sit back and behave more like typical buyers - wait for the point release and trade being first for being sure.
