Is it possible to follow up on the massive commercial success of an iconic game such as Angry Birds? Developer Rovio seems to think so, and it's unleashing its latest effort on Thursday in the hopes of doing just that.
Rovio has announced the release of Bad Piggies, its followup sequel to the hugely successful Angry Birds series. Available now for iOS, Android, Mac and PC, the new game is told from the point of view of the pigs, allowing gamers to build amazing machines that crawl, roll, crash and fly the pigs straight to the eggs.
“We’ve never done anything like this,” said Petri Järvilehto, EVP of Games. “Where Angry Birds was all about destruction, Bad Piggies is all about the joy of construction. It’s not just about getting three stars -- in this game, failing is almost as much fun as succeeding!”
Set on Piggy Island, Bad Piggies follows the pigs as they set out to nab the bird eggs -- but as usual, nothing seems to go according to plan. With more than 60 levels of fun and plenty of free updates ahead, Rovio promises "hours and hours of pig-crashing, exploding and flying fun."
Bad Piggies is now available for iPhone/iPod touch for only 99 cents, an HD version for iPad for only $2.99 and a Mac App Store edition for only $4.99.
