If you love software updates, it’s like Christmas morning in October for Apple product owners. In addition to this morning’s new iOS apps, the folks in Cupertino are busy pushing out iOS 5 compatibility updates for almost everything they’ve released -- including Remote, Find My iPhone, iMovie and the trio of iWork apps.
There’s a gaggle of fun awaiting you in iTunes this fine Wednesday -- as if the steady stream of iOS 5 compatibility updates from third-party developers isn’t enough to keep your internet connection busy, Apple has updated almost everything they’ve released to date for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Here’s a quick summary in case you’ve missed them.
Find My iPhone
Never mind the fact it can actually find your iPad or iPod touch as well, the app is now updated to version 1.3 which adds the ability to also find your Mac via iCloud as well as requesting an email when an offline device comes online and is located.
iMovie
The handheld video editing app gets a minor 1.2.2 update to address similarly small issues as well as expanding support for videos imported from external cameras.
iWork: Pages, Numbers and Keynote
Clocking in at version 1.5, Apple’s mobile iWork suite now allows for Documents in the Cloud storage, downloading documents to a Mac or PC via the iCloud website in various other formats, drag and drop from iCloud.com and plenty of bug fixes and enhancements across the board.
Remote
Apple’s iTunes and Apple TV controller for iOS has been updated for compatibility with iOS 5 as well as “additional stability and performance improvements.” We love those!
