Apple just announced Final Cut Pro X at the Final Cut Pro User Group's annual SuperMeet at NAB.
The update utilizes Cocoa, Core Animation, Grand Central Dispatch, and Open CL. Final Cut Pro X uses the CPU to render files in the background and you can begin editing while importing clips. 4K playback with scale rendering.
Auto color balance, audio cleanup, people detection, shot detection, image stabilization on import. Compound clips for nesting, Clip identification for wide, medium, and close up shots. Non-destructive color balancing and a magnetic timeline were also demoed at NAB.
People at the event are tweeting that FCP X is incredibly fast. We can't wait to get our hands on it.
The app being demoed is in beta.
Via FCPSuperMeet: Released June for $299 available in the Mac App Store.
