AppleInsider reports that Apple sent an email to developers informing them that they can, "Start testing your applications using the Apple Push Notification service today."
Developers can log in to the iPhone Dev Center to review the Push notification Guide and Getting Started Video.
Apple announced Push Notification last year and admitted during the iPhone 3.0 software event that it had underestimated the popularity of the App Store and the strain Push Notification would have on system. Because of that, they had missed their initial deadline of December 2007 for push notification enabled apps.
iPhone Software 3.0 is expected to be ready for mass consumption this summer.
