New reports have surfaced that Google had been in serious talks to acquire the Lala music streaming service before Apple purchased it, according to AppleInsider.
Lately, the two tech giants have been duking it out in an attempt to gain some leverage in the ever-increasing tech market. Back in November, Google had purchased AdMob for $750 million, which supposedly had outbid Apple's attempts to purchase the mobile advertising company.
As each company continues to expand and grow, they are more frequently finding themselves overlapping each other. So much so, that Google CEO Eric Schmidt resigned from Apple's Board of Directors back in August due to conflicts of interest.
Each company has exponential amount of financial resources, so it can be expected that both will continue to search and compete for new technologies.
