If you thought Apple's recent courtroom victory against Samsung pointed to the end of its patent battles, think again -- the iPhone maker is now attempting to expand its infringement claims to include Android 4.1 itself.
Bloomberg Businessweek is reporting that Apple seeks to add the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet as well as Android 4.1 "Jelly Bean" itself to its existing lawsuit against the Korean manufacturer.
The move counters Samsung's attempt last month to add its own additional patent infringement claim against Apple's latest iPhone 5 following Cupertino's courtroom victory at the end of August.
Curiously, Apple appears to be going after only the Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone where Android 4.1 is concerned, a handset that Google has now discontinued in favor of the newer LG-manufactured Nexus 4. Apple also wants to add 17 other Samsung products "that could use a stylus," even though they don't actually ship with one.
We'll have to wait until 2014 to find out what happens, which is when the case in question will actually go to trial -- by which point the products in question will likely look like relics of a technological Stone Age anyway.
