Apple Discontinues 40GB Apple TV, Slashes Price on 160GB Model

It was one of the rumors we mentioned before the Apple event last week, but Apple didn't tell us about their plans during the keynote. Today, however, Apple killed the 40GB ATV model in favor of the 160GB model. The 160GB model also received a price cut from $329 to $229, a price point the 40GB was offered at before this cut.
Unfortunately the online store isn't offering the 40GB model at clearance, but local retailers might. So it might pay to check around if you're in the market for an Apple TV.
